Here is another lovely holiday partywear as far from the shimmery pageant-style dresses as possible.  The Little Mass Rose Buds Dress is elegant and fun at the same time (this picture doesn’t do it justice). Red and pink rosebuds scattered on the bodice of an otherwise sedate black/midnight blue chiffon dress, anything but predictable, and right up my ally. Originally US$89, Britchin Post has marked it down to US$53.4 (size 7-12).  Wear with the very elegant star-dipped ballet flats (US$55) by Crew Cuts.

I relish in the wonderful transformation that takes place in people in the middle of November, whether they celebrate Thanksgiving and Christmas or not (this year was extra special with Eid in November). There is an extra smile on people’s faces. Everybody seems to be a little bit more polite and ready to laugh. Zaara and I are steeped deep in a happy, excited mood, full of positive feelings, and anticipation of an indescribable wonderful something. All is well. I know it can’t last. At work, on the train, at home, I dream of my little doll (she asked me today if I’d be her baby when she is all grown up and I’m old!) in that perfect dress. Luna Luna caters to this mood perfectly with dreamy tulle and jersey dresses. One that I cannot help highlighting is the Polka Dot Bow dress. I found this vintage style flower haircomb (US$33 on Etsy by SchickiMickis) and immediately became a fan. Zaara would wear it with the Catimini Bain de Soleil White dress (look for it in La Bella Flora; US$79.5 for size 4,5, and) for a dressed up look. Add the Essentiels Beaded Cardigan (US$44.25) and these off the beaten track ballet flats by Crew Cuts by J Crew (US$118).
